Despite an outstanding performance from Anthony Davis, the Pelicans fell to the Celtics on Saturday. Anthony Davis had an efficient 36 points and added 15 rebounds and 2 blocks, but its hard to win when your other four starters only combine for 26 points on 10-27 shooting from the field. For the Celtics, it was Isaiah Thomas who led the way with 38 points. Marcus Smart also added 22 points and went 5-7 from beyond the arc. As a team, the Celtics shot 50% from three, compared to 32% for the Pelicans. This marks the third straight loss for the Pelicans after they went on a four game winning streak. On the bright side for the Pelicans, new addition Donatas Motiejunas had 11 point, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists in his first appearance. The Pelicans next game is away against the struggling Knicks on Monday.
